Perth Parties Embrace Tech Vibe

Perth’s love of a good party (with the social media uploads to prove it) has meant an increase in demand for interactive entertainment products.
More than ever, organisers of weddings, parties, school balls and corporate events are looking to create engaging experiences and leave lasting impressions.
Kobe Korber, who runs Vivid Media, said: “Parties aren’t what they used to be. Guests crave interaction and entertainment.”
The latest in event technology, that’s just arrived in Perth from the States, lets people take what’s been described as ‘the ultimate selfie’.
Guests stand in front of the Mirror Me photo booth and follow prompts so they can capture full-length and high energy self-portraits.
“It’s a lot of fun when you see people interacting with it,” Kobe said.
“There are compliment animations that appear, screaming competitions to take part in and guests can even sign their names on the mirror.”
Vivid Media’s Mirror Me photo booth, which is the only one of its kind in the west, is an extension on the Perth company’s growing inventory of interactive entertainment products.
Their other popular products include the Instacam, a photo booth that has the capability to upload straight to Facebook and Twitter, send pics to guests’ mobile phones plus download and print from Instagram.
“The Instacam is a really cool piece of technology and there are massive benefits for companies who embrace it, in terms of the free publicity it creates for their brands when guests share their pics on social media,” Kobe said.
“A lot of our corporate clients tend to create event-specific hashtags so they can track their online presence.”
The Graffiti Wall is another of Vivid Media’s most popular products and it lets guest embellish their pics with an electronic ‘spraycan’ and a bucketload of digital accessories.
“There are also a lot more products we’d like to bring to Perth like the Floating Logo Cloud which creates 3D logos using bubbles and helium so it’s environmentally friendly; and the Slomo Photo booth that captures photos and video using high-speed cameras,” Kobe said.
“We might even look at Body Marbling which turns your skin into a work of art. So, watch this space.”
Demand for the Mirror Me Photo booth is expected to be paramount for Perth’s Christmas and New Year parties.
