Turning Dreams into Superheroes at the Variety Heart Scholarships Night

This year’s Variety Heart Scholarships Night carried a powerful theme: Superhero Status. It was a celebration of strength, courage, and the incredible talents of children and young people supported by Variety – the Children’s Charity.

When Variety invited us to bring something fun and inspiring to the evening, we wanted to create an experience that made every guest feel truly super. Our idea was simple but magical: use AI technology to transform children and adults into their very own superheroes, then turn those characters into personalised trading cards.

From Guests to Superheroes

Guests stepped up to have their photos taken, and within moments, the AI brought their superhero alter egos to life — bold costumes, dramatic colours, and striking poses. But the magic didn’t stop there. Each trading card was unique because every guest had the chance to add their own superhero name, making it a reflection of their personality, dreams, and spirit.

Celebrating Ability

For many of the children, especially those living with disability, it was an incredibly empowering experience. To see themselves not as limited by their challenges, but instead as heroes with power, strength, and courage, was something truly special. Parents, siblings, and supporters alike loved watching each transformation unfold — the smiles said it all.

A Keepsake to Treasure

Each trading card became more than just a fun photo — it was a personal keepsake, a reminder that inside everyone is a superhero waiting to shine. Guests proudly shared their creations with friends and family on the night, and we loved seeing the joy and pride it brought.
